Bandelier National Monument, New Mexico, USA
The result of a trip to Bandelier National Monument in March 2020, this ongoing body of work showcases some of the unique Native American Ancestral Pueblo structures that exist there.
The blending of the stunning natural landscape with the imprint of the Ancestral Pueblo community spoke to both my fascination with the impact of man on that landscape over the passage of time, and my love of portraying texture. The light, the warm earthy desert palette, the beautiful organic shapes, all combine to give me this amazing subject matter to explore.
This was an inspirational visit and I hope the work conveys a sense of the awe that it evoked.
